To use deadkey with SCIM, you need to set the keyboard properly. Run the scim-setup program, in the "FrontEnd -> Global Setup" pane, choose the correspoding keyboard layout and try again. Note you may need to log out X environment and re-log in to force scim to restart. Ming 2006.12.15
