Package: dhcp3-client Version: 3.0.4-10 Severity: normal Anyone doing DDNS needs to send a hostname as pump can. Becuase of other dependencies we need to run dhcp3-client. The only way to pass a host name is to list it as a string.
I tried: "$HOSTNAME" `echo $HOSTNAME` $HOATNAME with various surprising results. I think one should be able to change the hostname on a computer with just one config file. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-3-686 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages dhcp3-client depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.8 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 2.17 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii dhcp3-common 3.0.4-10 Common files used by all the dhcp3 ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-8 GNU C Library: Shared libraries dhcp3-client recommends no packages. -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
