Please let me know if you have any tips about packaging it.
If I were you I would just remove all other packages from the
control file and rename the upstream tarball to dict-wn_2.0.orig.tar.gz.
Some cleaning up of the rules file might be nice.
Please let me know so that I can work on it and upload to mentors. Probably
then you can do an NMU.
Yes, I would sponsor it. I would advise you to subscribe to the
wordnet package as well to be informed about bug reports in the
database that will probably be the same for wordnet 2.1 and
2.0.
2. Solve the problem I described under the URL above and
file a bug report (severity wishlist) to fix the script
that converts WordNet to dict format.
I'll try looking into this also.
This would be the most preferable solution and would be definitely
worth the effort because if you solve this you can save your time
in maintaining a package of outdated upstream software. Perhaps
even waiting for the promissed (#357903) version 3.0 and then
trying to convert the new data format to dict might be the best
solution. I would support any work in this direction because
you are very right that it is a shame that dict-wn is not available
any more.
Thanks for your interest in WordNet
Andreas.
