"pdftotext -enc Latin2 some.pdf" does not convert some ij or IJ sequences (sometimes generated from LaTeX as unicode characters 0x0133 and 0x0132). I patched /usr/share/xpdf/latin2/Latin2.unicodeMap ==================================DIFF=================== 48a49,50 > 0132 494a > 0133 696a ==================================DIFF=================== and this problem is solved. I think other encodings should be patched, too. Best regards P.
