It does work for me, at least without security manager, but Tomcat appears to be fragile in this regard, and I had to try a number of things to make it work. Haven't quite figured out what is needed. Please provide more information on your problem, including source code for your webapp, details of configuration changes, and the log messages (especially from /var/log/tomcat5.5/localhost.*.log.)
