In http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=250034 you reported that kdm_greet and krootimage both try to create 3 lock files in /etc/qt3. I just checked my /etc/qt3, and it indeed has the three lock files you mentioned, but they are over 2 years old, and even their last access times are over a year ago. Do recent versions of kdm still try to create these files for you?
