If gnome font preferences application is sufficient for this then Condensed and Book looks the same. Hmm, I've rechecked it, and if I choose Book and select Ok, then Condensed is still chosen. Btw, the same problem I have with ttf-free (FreeSans). qtconfig application offers DejaVu Sans with style Light or Normal which looks pretty good. I've tried another Qt application - Psi, using DejaVu Sans Normal is also quite normal, i.e., no light bold with fuzzy antialias. Problems, I'm facing are bound with gnome applications (gnome-panel, firefox, mozilla, sticky notes). -- Lukáš Hejtmánek
