package: aptitude version: 0.2.15.9-2 I am running a laptop using a 2.6.18 kernel. Until now I have had no problems using aptitude, apart from the usual dependency problems. The last time I upgraded the system was from unstable & no packages were upgraded. The next time I tried to upgrade I got the sigsegv message " ouch " , whatever.
My package/dependency database appears to be screwed. The only thing I can think of is that I probably used aptitude autoclean, altho I have used this in the the past with no problems. All I know is my machine has a screwed-up package list/dependencies database. This, I think is a problem. But more importantly, for me, I need to get the package/dependencies database functional, but the info to do this this is very sketchy.
