When using the settings UI, one cannot define key bindings to Mod4+something keys. The Mod4 part is ignored, leaving a plain unmodified key in the configuration. However, hand-editing the config file in $HOME/.themes/$NAME/xfce4/keythemerc and reloading config is sufficient to bind to such a key.
