Hi Jean-Michel I'm the new maintainer for python-htmlgen and have started looking into the bug report you file about utf-8.
I'm not up to speed on using utf-8 in python, so have attempted to forward your bug report on to the upstream author. Unfortunately, he does not seem reachable at either of the two email addresses I have for him. Furthermore, the homepage for HTMLgen is no longer. So I'm not too sure anything is going to get done upstream at this point in time. Would you care to submit a patch incorporating the changes you desire?
