Thank you for the patch! This looks basically good to me and I haven't
forgotten about it, but I wanted to get a new version of lintian uploaded
that supports the new gettext msgcmp.
The one thing that I think should probably be changed is that lintian
should probably default to not using color and support
--color={never,always,auto} similar to ls. The problem with defaulting to
using color is that we have no idea what background and foreground color
someone is using for their shell and we may inadvertantly produce
something that's unreadable. That looks like it's a fairly simple change
to your patch.
