Hmm, this is interesting. I will forward this to Krl Berry (upstream)
and will see what he says. It seems that in texinfo 4.8 there is a
regression with respect to this, or a definitive change. I cannot check
now as I am in Vietnam till 13 December, but if you want to ring this up
on the texinfo bug mailing list, please do so until I can doit myself.
(In case you do, please Cc me, add the respective version infos to the
post, as usual, thanks).

I know, I took over this pacakge some time ago as it was practially
orphaned. But I don't see that I will be able to fix *all* bugs really
soon.

If you can help track this down to some changes between the info sources
in sarge (4.7?) and the one currently in etch (4.8) that would be gret.

Ahhhh... No wI see. So it seems the endless Debian install-info versus
GNU install-info problem

Can someone confirm this, use ginstall-info instead of install-info to
add the nodes and then see whether current info finds the right nopdes.

If this is the case, then I think this should retitled as: Please ditch
Debian install-info.

THere was some discussion about this problem (but cannto find the ref
nopw here in the internet cafe), and some first scripts.

Best wishes

Norbert
