A dump of a midi file of mine with midi2mg has this @head section. @head { $tempo 60 $time_sig 4/4 $key b- $title Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied $resolution 120 } Proessing this file with midge fails to produce a midi file, but it has no obious error in its output. Enclosing the string after $title in double quotes Does the trick. So i suggest midi2mg should enclose every string of the $title token in double quotes (""): $title "Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied" - -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (800, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18.3-schwan20061119 Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages midge depends on: ii libmidi-perl 0.80-3 read, compose, modify, and write M ii perl 5.8.8-6.1 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction midge recommends no packages. - -- no debconf information -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFFce5I4XrXtQkN2NURArLPAJ4iet+d8N55jYQWR8djpa6EZcmDEwCgmZwk tqxIDJsWSeM0Ie1hVy1jGwU= =+B6s -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
