Thanks, that seems like a good solution.  You could also make a virtual
dictionary of just the translating dictionaries, for when people want
that.

It's not, but 1) the Debian maintainer usually knows how to route the
issue to right person, 2) sometimes (eg if upstream is unresponsive, not
in this case) Debian will make its own fix, and 3) the Debian BTS gives
an issue visibility and a communications channel it might not otherwise
have.
