Right, you spot a typo in my script.

Hmm, that is weird. Could you please change the line in 
/var/lib/dpkg/uswsusp.postinst that says

                suspend-keygen <<EOFa &> /dev/null
in to
                suspend-keygen <<EOFa

and run 'dpkg-reconfigure uswsusp'?

Also, could you run 

         debconf-show uswsusp

And send me the output?
