This is something that happens when the computer is too busy, making the
dockapp take too much time to launch. The applet only waits for 10
seconds.

It used to happen much more often in earlier gnome-swallow versions, as
gnome-swallow was endlessly looping, being responsible itself for the
business, but it should be fixed now.

Could you check, during login time, which process is taking so much
time? If it is the applet or the dockapp itself, there's probably
something wrong going on in gnome-swallow itself. Otherwise, I can
increase the delay to 20 seconds, but I'd like to avoid doing it as it's
not guaranteed to give better results.
