I will give a go as soon as I've fixed my cd-burner.

By "newer daily CD build", you mean iso grabed at 
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/i386/iso-cd/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso
or at some other place ?
