wvdial>1.54.0-1 doesn't work any more with any of slmdm-2.7.8,slmodem-2.9.5,slmodem-2.9.9* on a laptop with LT-AMR and AC87 and also on a laptop with SmartAMR and AC97, even with kernel 2.4.18 whereas wvdial=1.54.0-1 works well. Error message is (3 times) ... could not open /dev/ttySL0 or similar. Downgrading to wvdial_1.54.0-1 has solved the problem.
