Package: jpilot
Version: 0.99.9.2-1
Severity: normal

Running jpilot-sync with a USB palmpilot, and the udev rule
SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", KERNEL=="ttyUSB*", \
ATTRS{product}=="Palm Handheld*|Handspring Visor|palmOne Handheld", \
SYMLINK+="pilot"

I get the following message:
****************************************
 Syncing on device /dev/pilot
 Press the HotSync button now
****************************************
pi_bind error: /dev/pilot No such file or directory
Check your serial port and settings
Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_BIND
Finished

Error: connecting to serial port

The old behavior (with serial connections) was for jpilot-sync to
prompt for the user to press the hotsync button. This doesn't happen
with USB devices because /dev/pilot isn't created until the hotsync
button is pressed in the Palm. Therefore, the correct behavior should
be like KPilot's behavior: to write a message saying:
   Pilot device /dev/pilot does not exist. Probably it is a USB device
   and will appear during a HotSync.
and to wait around until /dev/pilot appears, rather than quitting.
