Additionally the data generated isn't to Ubuntu English standard. There are a couple of solutions: - Remove the locale generation and stand the irritating messages from Perl - as we do with all the Debian-derived debootstraps. Localisation then becomes a role issue. - Install the correct Ubuntu language pack for English localisation in the hook scripts after APT has been set up correctly. I know the tea tax dodging colonialists think they rule the world, but let's not pander to their delusions :-) Script attached to install the locale specific language pack. It needs to go after 20-setup-apt though.
