Just a few days ago.
What plugins do you have activated? Does it still happens if you disable

I have iPod and last.fm. It works when I deactivate the lastfm plugin,
and all is happy with the world.
This discussion on the rhythmbox-devel list indicates that the problem
can be with the audioscrobbler/last.fm plugin or something similar.
