Hi, xchat doesn't eat memory here.
I'm not sure if this problem is related to xchat, gtk, or my gtk engine. I see that the gtk2 engine i'm using (gtk2-engines-gtk-qt 0.60-1) is not in the list below of packages
Well, try with a different gtk engine then? Maybe it is the gtk-qt engine.
It indeed appears to be related to the gtk-qt engine, apps tend to use more pixmap mem when it is enabled. I haven't been able to run xchat for hours with gtk-qt disabled yet, but if that still sucks up huge amounts of pixmap memory i'll be sure to post it here.
Do you have transparency enabled?
