RF> What faults? RF> The extended rationale for this patch is apparently lost (#7051 doesn't RF> exist in the BTS) but if you don't explain what real world problems it RF> causes, I don't see a reason to change anything. We've had this patch RF> since emacs19 and you're the first user to complain, to the best of my RF> knowledge. It breaks checks on envelope sender which were very rare at the time of emacs19 but are more often now. Worse, it makes usage of gnus inconsistent depending on whether you use SMTP or sendmail to send a mail and on whether you use emacs's gnus or gnus from separate gnus package (the latter has no this patch). I discovered the Debian patch when I encountered a check of envelope sender and From: for consistency at a server which already received several my letters when I just sent a mail from my etch machine where I use emacs-snapshot with its embedded gnus. On the "successful" machine I use emacs21 with external gnus. Both my and system _configuration_ are the same on both machines. -- Artem Chuprina RFC2822: <ran{}ran.pp.ru> Jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Может, тебе еще секретный ключ от шкатулки с сильмариллами?
