Package: wodim
Version: 5:1.0~pre5-1
Severity: important

Hi.
When invoking wodim with dev=ATAPI:/dev/xxx syntax
(for instance, when using k3b) it fails to detect my
DVD-RW supported modes, and refuses to write in any mode (SAO/TAO).

For example:
$ wodim dev=ATAPI:/dev/hdc -checkdrive
[...snip...]
Device type    : Removable CD-ROM
Version        : 0
Response Format: 2
Capabilities   :
Vendor_info    : 'SONY    '
Identifikation : 'DVD RW DW-Q520A '
Revision       : 'HYS2'
Device seems to be: Generic mmc2 DVD-R/DVD-RW.
Using generic SCSI-3/mmc   CD-R/CD-RW driver (mmc_cdr).
Driver flags : MMC-3 SWABAUDIO BURNFREE FORCESPEED
Supported modes:

$ wodim dev=ATA:1,0,0 -checkdrive
[...snip...]
Device type    : Removable CD-ROM
Version        : 0
Response Format: 2

However, if I run wodim from root I get the right response:

# wodim dev=ATAPI:/dev/hdc -checkdrive
[snip]
