I did something similar...

ipython            ->  depends on python2.3-ipython
ipython-common     ->  contains html documentation
python2.2-ipython  ->  built against python2.2
python2.3-ipython  ->  built against python2.3
python2.4-ipython  ->  built against python2.4

This looks very nice. I tried to modify the rules and control files myself, but the level of difficulty was over my head.


Thanks for taking the time and effort necessary to do this. I am sure Debian users of ipython will find this enhancement very useful.

I wonder if it is really necessary to build packages for 2.2, though.

One suggestion: add a Release file to your repository so that apt pinning will work. Currently it doesn't.
