After fighting some hours with misdn (which crashes when modprobing it), I tried to play with the optimization options in zaptel's Makefile.
I recompiled the modules with the following changes in /usr/src/modules/zaptel/Makefile (too few changes for sending a patch): Line 32: CFLAGS+=-I. -O2 -g -Wall -DBUILDING_TONEZONE #-DTONEZONE_DRIVER (changed from -O4) Line 44: KFLAGS:=-I$(KINCLUDES) -O4 (changed from -O6) My VIA Epia 500MHz machine works without any problem after reboot (my test: call myself via an outbound BRI number and get my inbound answering machine) Because I did both changes at the same I am not shure which O-flag did the trick! ii zaptel-source 1.2.10.dfsg-2 Zapata telephony interface ii zaptel 1.2.10.dfsg-2 zapata telephony utilities ii linux-image-2.6.18-2-486 2.6.18-5 Linux 2.6.18 image on x86 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
