I agree with the submitter that GnuCash would be well-served by an updated GNOME Menu Entry. I have created (and attached) a file that should do the trick. It complies with the Freedesktop Desktop Entry Specification 0.9.4 [1] to the best of my understanding, and is built to incorporate information from the existing menu entry. The file should be installed into /usr/share/applications/ and obsoletes the existing file in /usr/share/gnome/apps/Applications/gnucash.desktop which should probably be removed. Hopefully you will find it useful.
