Hmm.  I see that it's easy to miss, but it is there:

When no flags are given, -acdgkmnru is assumed.

-c .....

Taken together, these two make it clear to me that a get/set option
without an option queries, and with an argument sets.  But I do see that
there can be a case made for more clarity.

I will put something together when I have a little more time.
Suggestions welcome.
