See the bugreports, try to fix them.
I do neither have the knowledge nor the time to fix upstream bugs. My offer to take over is just to preserve the current state of affairs, keeping an even remotely useful package available. I will document the bad things and show them prominently, but the code won't diverge too much from upstream. > I think it is a better idea to write an ulogd module that accepts > ippl.conf old config files and generates the same logformat. If I will write any code in the near future, it will be for my rewrite of logrotate. If you still intend to drop the package after sarge's release, there should be a version with me as Maintainer in sarge (since the BTS and other resources are connected with the _unstable_ package). If you are willing to keep the package with me as a team, I'd suggest having an alioth project, with a mailing list as maintainer and the two of us as uploaders in sarge to ease handling bug reports.
