Ubuntu released a revised version of their USN. If you took the patches from the original USN you might want to check what they changed.
Oddly enough, I was pulling some patches from upstream CVS for the TIFF loader and noticed the changes (or equivalents) from the original USN and incorporated them. The package was done the day before your report. I was waiting on freeze related instructions from the etch release team before uploading. I took a look at the revised USN before uploading.
