Hi, I also have this bug on one of my i386 etch machines. For me it's also very important to get this fixed as I have a talk next weekend where I need a presentation containing a video :-/
I can't even run gdb up to the point where Impress crashes because it receives a SIGPIPE before. Maybe it's interesting to know that, as said before, this bug occurs only on one of my machines which are both kept up-to-date.
