Until someone sends me a comprehensible, documented patch to configure.in and driver/XScreenSaver.ad.in, I won't be changing this. The current defaults are as sane as I could make them.
"x-terminal-emulator" the debian alternatives system symlink that links to an xterm-like program, be it xterm, gnome-terminal, rxvt, konsole, or whatever.
