Hello, Daniel Burrows writes:
Package: unison2.9.1
Severity: normal
The description fields of unison and unison2.9.1 are identical. This
is unhelpful for a user trying to install unison, as it isn't clear
which release would be best for him/her or even what the tradeoffs of
installing a particular release are. For instance, is 2.9.1 a
developmental and unstable release? (apparently not; the project page
says it's stable) Were useful features dropped in the new release? Are
we keeping the old version around for compatibility reasons? I'm sure I
can find these out on my own, but they really ought to be in the
Description if both packages are going to stay in the archive (IMO
dropping one of them or merging them would be the preferable solution).

unison2.9.1 is an older version of unison (2.13.16). I intend to ask his
removal before etch release. More exactly, i will fill an RC bug against it
and then ask the removal from testing.
The only reason for his presence is to allow using unison between sarge and
sid/etch host. Unison requires to have the same version on both.
Next time, i will had in the package description what I wrote in the
README.Debian.

Sylvain Le Gall
