Package: notification-daemon
Version: 0.3.5-1+b1
Severity: normal

i just did an "apt-get dist-upgrade" and afterward notification-daemon
indicates "restart required"; however, none of the packages upgraded
themselves indicated this need.

these are the packages that were updated:

  dbus dbus-1-utils enscript eog galeon galeon-common gcj-4.1-base
  gij-4.1
  gnome-keyring-manager gnome-utils grip gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
  libavahi-client-dev libavahi-client3 libavahi-common-data
  libavahi-common-dev libavahi-common3 libavahi-compat-howl0
  libavahi-compat-libdnssd1 libavahi-glib-dev libavahi-glib1
  libavahi-qt3-1
  libdbus-1-3 libdbus-1-dev libgcj7-0 libgcj7-awt libgcj7-jar
  libgnutls-dev
  libgnutls13 libmagick9 libnm-glib0 libopencdk8
  libopencdk8-dev libqt4-core
  libqt4-dev libqt4-gui libqt4-qt3support libqt4-sql
  libruby1.8 libtasn1-3
  libtasn1-3-bin libtasn1-3-dev linux-kernel-headers
  nfs-common openoffice.org
  openoffice.org-base openoffice.org-calc
  openoffice.org-common
  openoffice.org-core openoffice.org-draw
  openoffice.org-evolution
  openoffice.org-gnome openoffice.org-gtk
  openoffice.org-help-en-us
  openoffice.org-impress
  openoffice.org-java-common openoffice.org-math
  openoffice.org-writer python-uno qemu
  rhythmbox ttf-opensymbol vino

my guess is either dbus or linux-kernel-headers is the culprit.

if the notification-daemon message is indeed correct, then this bug should be
redirected to the offending package indicating that the package
installation needs to indicate restart required.

thanks for the hard work.
