Package: wengophone
Version: 2.0.0~rc5-svn8108-2
Severity: important
Hello,
every time I launch wengophone, my sound configuration gets messed up and
doesn't work. I use alsa and have no sound server whatsoever that is
launched. Only when all applications that use my soundcard are stopped,
using wengophone is possible (although I have configured my alsa so as to
mix all sound sources, mplayer runs fine with amarok, etc.).
Here is the complete list of the options I have for output device (in audio
configuration panel):
(default) /dev/dsp
(default) NVidia nForce2: NVidia nForce2 (hw:0, 0) <- the one I use (only
one that seems to work)
NVidia nForce2: NVidia nForce2 - IEC958 (hw:0, 2) <- the one activated by
default on execution (the default ones aren't available at the time)
front
iec958
spdif
nforce-hw
nforce
dsp0
First of all, part of these entries are false (spdif for instance) and
shouldn't make it to the list. Secondly, as I said above, initially the
default entries aren't available. The (hw: 0, 0) entry is only available for
the input device. The output and ringing devices are the (hw: 0, 2). That
doesn't work. In order to update the list, I found a trick (might be usefull
to find the problem):
_ Be sure to have (hw: 0, 0) for input device
_ Click make test call
_ Hang up, go back to audio config, and voilĂ ... the (hw: 0, 0) for output
devices are back.
I found another issue with that. When starting wengophone the small icon on
the bottom of the application says that I'm unregistered (although my wengo
credits show up, and the wengo smiley is enabled). I cannot seem to be able
to make calls, but this is related to bad sound configuration (the sound
icon has the small red X). If I open audio configuration and press save
(whether I made any change or not), I get registered (that's maybe only an
icon update issue, but nevertheless something to be fixed, especially if
it's more than that).
Thanks for your time.
