Package: gv Version: 1:3.6.1-7 Severity: normal The file might not be the nicest one (it's an export from a proprietary windows software), but it is displayed by gs (gs-gpl currently) without problems. gv, however, changes the cursor to the clock that indicate waiting, but it didn't display anything even after a minute.
An example file is at http://people.debian.org/~frank/Pro20-Donor_Tween-02-25.eps If you transform it to a pdf file with epstopdf, the symptoms stay the same.
