No, the bug's still there, I see no such cycling. Possibly it might be a documentation bug, if so then it could alternatively be considered a wishlist bug for more precise settings to be added to the "Input Box" Preferences dialog under "Nick Completion". I have now found I can get the behaviour I expected by manually editing ~/.xchat2/xchat.conf, changing completion_amount to 1. In that case I have to add the extra letters till there's only once nick chosen. Nevertheless, if I change completion_amount to 3, say, then I get the behaviour I described. There may be two choices available but only the first of them gets chosen automatically, and it's stuck there. I don't get the the tab cycling you mentioned. Incidentally, toggling "Automatic nick completion (without TAB key)" on and off seems to have no effect on the completion behaviour. So, while I can work around the problem by setting completion_amount=1, at the same time the bug still stands since I am not seeing the tab cycling that you've said is supposed to occur. I said it might be a documentation bug since I don't know if the config settings have some other value somewhere else to turn the tab cycling on or off. By the way I'm on xchat 2.6.8 (2.6.8-0.1) now.
