Package: jpilot

After an upgrade && dist-upgrade, jpilot no longer syncs with
handheld.  On pressing "sync" in jpilot, the app waits for the
handheld.  When I press the cradle button, the handheld immediately
reports that the connection was lost.  Jpilot continues to wait.  If I
clear the error on the handheld (hit "OK") and touch the cradle button
a second time, jpilot responds thus:

    dlp_ReadSysInfo error
    Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_PI_CONNECT
    Finished

The hardware is a Palm III running Palm OS 3.5.

I am connecting through /dev/ttyS0.  This appears still to be
the correct device, as cat'ing from it and then hitting sync on the
cradle produces garbage:
