This message is normal; click on the link as it says and it will explain
to you how to enable this feature (this should not be labeled an "error"
though - I'll pass that to upstream).

I cannot reproduce this at all. It works just fine with me. Could you
please try the latest phpMyAdmin version from unstable to see if that
has any influence?
