We don't like that way, because debian/ subdir is a fast moving target :) For example if some debian hack have to be done for a specific arch or the debian-policy changes, I have to change files in debian/. But it is a very good thing that I needn't modify anything outside debian/, so if in the future I found something in the source and misc, I will mail you!
