Hi Falk,
you can set configuration parameters for squid in /etc/squid/ squid.conf. Format of settings is

  name = value

and each single parameter is widely documented in your /etc/squid/ squid.conf. To solve this issue, open your /etc/squid/squid.conf, search for the visible_hostname parameter and set it to a convenient value ('proxy' is enough if you don't have a proper name for the host).

Also you can find help on how debian can be used/configured/ administered on

  . debian-user mailing list (http://lists.debian.org/debian-user)
  . #debian-user IRC channel on irc.debian.org

and help on squid configuration on

  . http://www.squid-cache.org

Regards,
