Thanks. This is very strange. The most likely cause would be that the initramfs-tools package is not included on the CD, but I've just checked today's image and it is. Could you check if your CD contains: /cdrom/pool/main/i/initramfs-tools/initramfs-tools_0.84_all.deb (possibly with a different version)? If not, please try downloading today's image. If that package _is_ included, we're going to have to dig a bit deeper. Could you run the installation again, but _before_ you get to the base installation step use nano to add a new line "set -x" below the first line of the script /var/lib/dpkg/info/base-installer.postinst. And then please send the syslog again (English install appreciated). Cheers, FJP
