Strange. It looks like you don't have enough rights to something or
another, but I'm not sure what. Do you have the same problem with
plain module-detect?
Yes, exactly the same output minus the "Trying capability" line.
Could you post a backtrace
No. At least not without some guidance. I have an impression that
getting a backtrace consists of compiling everything involved with -g,
and then using gdb. I haven't done that before, but on the other hand,
learning how to get a backtrace is something I really need to do sooner
rather than later (my school assignment is segfaulting too, even though
the code seems to be completely error free).
and also the output of cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [T71Space ]: Aureon71 - Terratec Aureon 7.1-Space
Terratec Aureon 7.1-Space at 0xb000, irq 193
1 [U61 ]: USB-Audio - USB Oxygen 61
M-Audio USB Oxygen 61 at usb-0000:00:10.1-2, full
speed
and cat /proc/asound/pcm?
00-00: ICE1724 : ICE1724 : playback 1 : capture 1
00-01: IEC1724 IEC958 : IEC1724 IEC958 : playback 1 : capture 1
00-02: ICE1724 Surrounds : ICE1724 Surround PCM : playback 3
Do you actually have a hw:1,0 alsa device?
I guess not. And staring at the card listing, that's a quite confident
guess.
