Package: zaptel Version: 1:1.2.7.dfsg-1 Severity: important Justification: Renders package unusable to users of specific hardware
Dropping support for wct4xxp represents a critical regression to people using that hardware. Ideally, a non-free package would have been created to avoid compromising functionality. At very least, a NEWS entry or better, a debconf alert during preinst, would have been nice, to warn people that one of their hardware devices was about to be disabled.
