today i found one package that certanly conflicts with network-manager. i often wonder why interfaces show up and disappear in the menu and why i got wrong ip numbers from my server.
i thought the tool network-admin belongs to network-manager and tried to configure stuff here which in fact changes the file /etc/network/interfaces which in turn changes the behavior of network-manager. running both may end into two dhcplients running configuring your interface, the last one wins and probably gets the wrong ip number from your dhcp server. best regards, michael -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
