I have tried out the graphical installer and asked it to use grub2. That was a total failure, and I re-booted into the installer to replace grub2 with plain grub. The installer insisted on reinstalling the base-system, which failed because console-tools' dpkg processes asked a "conffile changed" question, which received an EOF on stdin at conffile prompt and failed the entire installation. Please investigate whether this is a d-i, g-i or console-tools issue; #debian-boot says it's a console-tools issue.
