In this case, we should drop tetex from Debian entirely and texlive
should declare appropriate Replaces relationships.  Is there a plan to
do so?

Sorry, I don't know anything about tetex and texlive packages in
Debian.  But I agree with you on this.  It looks like Debian should
drop support of teTeX and use the new TeX Live distribution instead.

But until then,  any idea how to solve my problem?
