Package: postgresql-8.1 Version: 8.1.4-7 Severity: normal What simply happened when I did the last testing upgrade was that the data directory, i.e. all contents of /var/lib/postgresql disappeared.
I have nothing more to go on, nothing in the logs, nothing else seems to have been altered. The server doesn't start, which I guess is attributable to this too. I have tried to reinstall the latest package, but it does not appear to generate the 8.1/main cluster. If it try pg_createcluster (or something), it says however that the cluster allready is configured. The data directory does not exist. Sorry, I don't have more, but please contact me if I can be of help. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.27-2.4.27.2005-06-01.1-pooh Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages postgresql-8.1 depends on: ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcomerr2 1.39-1 common error description library ii libkrb53 1.4.4-3 MIT Kerberos runtime libraries ii libpam0g 0.79-3.2 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpq4 8.1.4-7 PostgreSQL C client library ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8c-3 SSL shared libraries ii postgresql-client-8.1 8.1.4-7 front-end programs for PostgreSQL ii postgresql-common 65 manager for PostgreSQL database cl postgresql-8.1 recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
