<sigh> Well, at least automake1.4 is frozen now, so this isn't an RC problem
for etch...

Eric, why are you making this change in a package that's been frozen?  Why
does the changelog claim that there is a "new automake package", when this
package is not in the archive and doesn't appear to be in NEW?
