Typo on my part, I just checked, I meant "ethstatus". I was testing
quite a bit of tools, so I probably mistyped it. But the bug report is
valid.

Plain good old console. No framebuffer, no X (not even running). I use
mingetty instead of getty, if this matters (cf. #221290 for details). 
Please tell me which other information you need. I do not (yet) use
UTF-8, though I probably need to switch after the release of Etch. My
system is Etch (I typically update daily).
